Many gamers interested in the question of the challenges of combat, and how these can be portrayed in games, are fans of the FRED’s variant system of GURPS. There is a short list of equipment and tools that can be used for the Wildcard Powers, but it's a bit of a cheat. The templates don't include equipment, and using equipment with them requires some effort.

The character can activate the power by using another skill, or a different one. The GM determines which skill is used for the activation, and uses the class skill proficiency or proficiency bonus.
