He dropped many shots from the first film such as the entire blurry closeup of the ice planet Hoth, the taking of boarders, the establishing shots of the Star Destroyer, shots of the X-Wings, the Millennium Falcon, the Emperor's ship, Yoda's hut, Obi-Wan's over-long lightsaber duel with Count Dooku, the banzai attack on the Jedi's, the podrace, the Death Star plans, the destruction of the Death Star, the Jedi light saber duel between Luke and Vader, the podrace, the attack on the Death Star with the Rebel pilots in the bombers (which already appeared in episode one at the end of the trench scene), the introduction of Princess Leia, the landing on the forest moon and Mos Eisley. He added new shots - Luke on the throne of the Emperor, Vader's saber karate chop, Yoda (later called Yaddle instead) looking up into the death star, Obi-Wan explaining the Force to Luke, a shot of Vader looking into Leia's chamber as she is meditating, and even a couple of Jedi mind tricks!
As far as we could tell, the Phantom Editor didn't change anything about the script. He simply switched out all the junk from the original film and inserted material from the unfinished theatrical version. We assumed that he did so because he couldn't afford to pay to have a remake made and had to scavenge the original "Episode 1" to do it. d2c66b5586
